Remember the old Mt. Ephraim Public Library that operated for years behind Kershaw School? It sadly has been closed for several years. Recently the Mt. Ephraim Public Schools reacquired this building. This could not have come at a better time since with new staff and program changes, there were some space limitations at Kershaw that needed solutions. The Mt. Ephraim Board of Education has voted to transform the Library into a center for the school's music activities!
Many people are busy behind the scenes to re-purpose this wonderful space for use for 5th & 6th General Music classes, instrumental music lessons, Concert Band rehearsals, Chorus rehearsals and Jazz Rock Ensemble practices! It's quite exciting to help figure out how to do it and imagine the wonderful sounds that will be floating from our new space next Fall! Thank you to the School Board for supporting music in our schools!
I am excited to announce that plans are underway to bring back Chorus classes to Kershaw School! Two levels are planned, a 5-6 Chorus and a 7-8 Chorus. The schedule is uncertain at this time, but this Fall students will be able to sign up and SING! I am happy to be directing the program and have taught choral groups in the past. Kids have already asked me what type of songs we will sing, and I can assure you it will be a variety and most of all FUN! Students have asked if they can be in both Chorus AND Band and the answer is a definite YES!

This blog will be used for class updates, lists of assignments, links to music and technology events in our area and other news from Mrs. Manion's World. It is designed as an aid and may not be up-to-date. It does not replace attention in class.
