THANK YOU PARENTS AND GUARDIANS for your tremendous response to the call for chaperones for the Clementon Park Trip for Band and Chorus. We are getting approvals for our list and letters will go out Mon or Wed latest. THANKS!!! Can't wait to go!!
Find out info about your group with links to music and sound files and more! It's under the Instrumental Music--> Ensembles tab.
One of my flute players recently asked me for music to use for a church project she is doing. I am always happy to help you find music! This year I am a subscriber to an Internet site called Virtual Sheet Music. I use this for my own use, for private students and for my school kids, too. You are welcome to take a look HERE and see if there is anything you are interested in for your instrument. If so, write it down and let me know. If it is part of my subscription cost I will be able to print it out for you to use.
I hope you want to play your instrument for others! Spring Break is coming up. Maybe you will be visiting a grandmother or grandfather or have someone else you can play your instrument for? Playing your music makes a great gift- one most appreciated- and it's FREE! Enjoy!
I have ordered you some simple capos to use! Should be in soon! PRACTICE and you will be eligible for a free CAPO from Mrs. Manion! Did I mention I have some GUITAR PICKS for you?? Show me some progress and you MIGHT qualify!! :) In the meantime... here is a link to some GUITAR CAPO INFO!
LAST CALL! You must "pass off" your five goals to earn a ticket to Friday's Popcorn Party! Wednesday and Friday morning are your last chance! Come on down at any lesson time, recess, before or after school and play the tunes you have been assigned and practiced for Mrs. Manion! If you pass them off you are "in!" We will watch some movies and eat our lunches and popcorn starting at 11:40.
iGo to the 7th Grade World Music Drumming page and look for the review sheet. You can open it and print it out. Begin studying for your Quiz! We will be reviewing in class on Monday, March 12th, too.
Check the new lesson schedule- you can print it out! Get to your lessons! Group "L" added- for make-up lessons but you must see me in the morning for an appointment! Get down- get "passed off" and get your ticket into the POPCORN PARTY! (March 16th!)
The National Association for Music Education (NAfME is formerly MENC) is the greatest advocacy organization for music education. Mrs. Manion has been a proud member since 1978! Music Friends is a division of NAfME that parents and community supporters may be interested in. The community of Mt. Ephraim has a long tradition of support for music in our schools! Thanks to all the administrators, school board members, parents and community members who have worked so hard to keep music a part of our children's lives, especially in these times when it is so difficult to do so. Working together we can keep it alive- Music Lasts A Lifetime!
This blog will be used for class updates, lists of assignments, links to music and technology events in our area and other news from Mrs. Manion's World. It is designed as an aid and may not be up-to-date. It does not replace attention in class.
