I am working on some signs for the hallway display case that the 7th & 8th grade general music classes are helping to create. It is titled "History of Recorded Music" and it will present a timeline, pictures, information and real "museum" objects from our attics related to recorded music history. I found a wonderful website about the Thomas Edison National Historic Park in West Orange, NJ. As you look at this site there are many pictures and recordings to find about the early days of recording. I have never visited the Edison buildings before but would like to go! Imagine that all of this happened in our backyard! As you are reading about Edison, be sure to read about the RCA Victor "Talking Machine" Company in Camden, NJ. RCA was the pioneer of phonographs and later television and it all happened down the road in Camden!

This blog will be used for class updates, lists of assignments, links to music and technology events in our area and other news from Mrs. Manion's World. It is designed as an aid and may not be up-to-date. It does not replace attention in class.
